Keegan Alexander dates back to a partnership formed at the end of the Second World War between Tanny Keegan and Jack Alexander. Tanny Keegan had an extensive commercial property practice and Jack Alexander was a formidable litigator. Keegan Alexander’s present seven partners continue to reflect these dual strengths, and they remain committed to maintaining the standards set by Keegan Alexander’s founding partners. Litigation & Dispute Resolution:
Three partners and four fee earners
■Successful representation of Orion Marine and Smuggler Marine in breach of copyright action commenced by Sealegs international regarding its amphibious systems including obtaining discharge of injunction preventing Smuggler and Orion from entering the market
■Dissolution of a major building society involving recovery of assets in UK, Denmark, Malta and Singapore
■Since 2014, representation of two of the defendants in the application for extradition by United States of America in respect of the Megaupload/Dotcom executives which litigation has been characterised as the largest criminal copyright case in the world. Peter Spring and Amanda Hyde have represented these client defendants at all levels of the court system, culminating in a six-day hearing before the New Zealand Supreme Court in June of this year, said to be the longest in the history of the Court
