He is also admitted to the Bars of the United States Supreme Court, as well as the United States Court of Appeals for the Second, Third, Fourth, Sixth, Seventh, Ninth, Tenth, District of Columbia, and Federal Circuits. Mr. Burstein is a nationally recognized trial lawyer who has represented clients in federal and state courts located in 27 states. • Successfully moved to dismiss case for defamation, libel, invasion of privacy, and intentional infliction of emotional distress brought against Nicki Minaj seeking, among other things, at least $5 million in damages.
• Won an appeal reversing dismissal of affirmative defenses and counterclaims by reinstating the client’s challenge to the commercial reasonableness of the sale of collateral securing a $145 million loan.
• Jury verdict upholding a will in a $30 million estate.
• Settled a litigation against a media company for an amount equal to just two percent of the plaintiff’s damages claim.
• $5.1 million jury verdict against famous boxer Manny Pacquiao.
• Settled a nine-year dispute which resulted in the client taking sole control of a multinational business worth more than $100 million.
• After extensive litigation over the plaintiff’s motion for default in a case brought against Nicki Minaj seeking $15 million, the plaintiff dismissed the case voluntarily without any payment made to her.
• Defeated a motion to dismiss in one of the few cases nationwide in which a RICO complaint founded upon alleged criminal copyright infringements has been upheld. Thereafter, the defendant agreed to a multi-million-dollar settlement.
