■ Advised EBRD on the Trade Facilitation Programme in Lebanon while co-counselling with Norton Rose Fulbright LLP. The firm advised on the EBRD Revolving Credit Agreement and Issuing Bank Agreement related to documentary credits in connection with exports from and imports of its countries of operations. El-Aref advised the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) on the first time expansion of international trade in Lebanon with a US$ 50 million trade finance line to local bank in Lebanon
■ Advised the messaging company Telegram as co-counsel in Lebanon with Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom (UK) LLP in connection with a proposed issuance, offering and sale of US$850 million worth of cryptocurrency, as new blockbuster initial coin offering (ICO) to qualified investors and accredited investors. Telegram has taken in $850 million over the past two months from some of the biggest venture capital firms in Silicon Valley
■ Advised Société De Promotion Et De Participation Pour La Coopération Économique (PROPARCO) while counselling with Baker McKenzie LLP on facility agreement with Lebanese Bank at the amount of US$18,000,000 for the purpose of on-lending eligible sub-loans to eligible sub-borrowers in Lebanon
■ Advised PRIMESOUTH on the development, owning and operation of three offshore LNG regasification terminals with their respective natural gas pipelines, the supply of LNG, and the provision of re-gasified LNG to power plants in Lebanon
