Carroll & Weiss' three partners collectively have more than 80 years' experience with complex, "big ticket" litigation. Each spent the first half of his career at multinational firms like King & Spalding before forming this firm over 15 years ago. They are supported by a litigation team of close to a dozen lawyers. Their client list includes companies like UPS, GM, 3M, Home Depot, and Ford, as well as many smaller corporations. Their work tends to fall into one of three categories:

• • Product Liability Defense - Carroll & Weiss partners have defended manufacturers, importers, and retailers in cases involving everything from automobiles and asbestos to ziplines -- and everything in between. Much of their current product portfolio relates to the defense of a consumer product which is involved in up to a dozen accidental child deaths a year. In this ongoing, pattern litigation, the firm represents nearly all major American manufacturers and retailers, as well as most major Taiwanese manufacturers, and even the two major trade associations active in this area. The firm has defended individual lawsuits, class actions, and has even represented the industry in regulatory actions before the Consumer Product Safety Commission.

• • Toxic Tort Litigation - The firm is heavily involved in the defense of "forever chemical" cases, representing retailers and sellers involved in thousands of cases, ranging from individual personal injury cases to environmental mass actions and class actions to multi-district litigation involving all the above, as well as governmental entities. Carroll & Weiss' experience with these substances goes back more than 30 years -- even before the first "forever chemical" case was filed. Given the complexity of this litigation, most defendants have chosen very large firms to defend them, but the firm's experience with the science and the experts, as well as the judgment and perspective each partner has from handling complex litigation for over three decades, has enabled the firm to ably defend its clients.

• • General Counsel Assignments - Over the past 5-7 years, the firm has developed a practice serving growing, smaller companies which have few or no in-house counsel. Given the firm's experience with risk, litigation, insurance, and federal and state regulations, the partners have been able to advise and counsel business leaders as they grow their companies. Carroll & Weiss currently serves more than a half-dozen clients, ranging in annual sales from the mid-nine figures to low-eight figures, in industries ranging from telecom to construction to logistics.

While the firm is based in Atlanta, the partners have appeared in courts in more than 35 states. Currently, it is defending cases from California to Florida to New York.
