The Barber Law Firm was founded by A.L. Barber in 1910. Environmental 

The Environmental Practice Group assists firm clients in transactions, defense of enforcement actions, representation in administrative appeals and other litigation. The group also helps clients understand and comply with regulatory requirements, and it supports clients as they prepare for and respond to emergencies, craft approaches for their legacy clean-up issues, and develop solutions for their product regulation, market access, and other environmental policy challenges.

Labor & Employment 

The Labor & Employment Group has a strong working knowledge of the complex network of state and federal laws and regulations that dictate how employers must treat employees, former employees, and applicants for employment. The group has deep experience in class action litigation, labor arbitration, litigation under federal and state statutes, downsizing, severance and compensation issues, and preparation and editing of employee handbooks and other human resources-related documentation.

Commercial and General Litigation 

The firm has a history of strength and depth in the litigation arena. The Litigation Practice Group handles commercial, personal injury, motor vehicle accident, catastrophic accidents, construction accident, transportation, premises liability, liquor liability, tractor trailer, general liability, and insurance defense litigation for local and national clients.

Insurance Litigation and Coverage 

The Insurance Litigation and Coverage Practice Group provides analysis and evaluation of policy coverage issues for insurance carriers, issuance of coverage opinions on such issues, and it provides litigation defense of general liability claims on behalf of insurance carriers and their insureds. The firm has extensive expertise in handling both first-party and third-party insurance coverage analysis, issues, and disputes. The firm's attorneys assist clients in analyzing insurance policies and contracts, investigating claims, rendering coverage opinions, and litigating coverage issues through trial and appeal, including the prosecution and defense of actions for declaratory relief.

Energy and Regulated Utilities 

The Regulatory, Public Utility, Energy and Telecommunications Practice Group regularly represents all types of utility companies, from fully integrated electric companies and natural gas distribution entities to water and sewer providers, both regulated and municipally owned, to telecommunications. The group has experience handling all aspects of public utility matters before the Arkansas Public Service Commission, including preparing applications for, and participating in, general rate proceedings; conforming practices and operations of utilities to rules, regulations, and applicable statutory provisions; appeals to both the intermediate appellate courts and the Arkansas Supreme Court; and debt and equity financing transactions and approvals.
