The firm started back in 1999 when Wagner Balera retired from the Brazilian National Social Security Institute (INSS) to found his social security boutique law firm. Wagner is a national authority in matters concerning social security taxation. In 2017, the boutique expanded to include a big group of social security lawyers and since then known as Balera, Berbel & Mitne Advogados. Now, the firm is the largest and most recognized social security law firm in the country in the most diverse economic sectors.
