BADOKH has a ten-strong restructuring and insolvency practice, led by partner Petr Kuhn. All leading partners in the restructuring and insolvency group have been partners of international law firms, and have practised for nearly 20 years on average. BADOKH’s experience in high-profile reorganisations recently proved valuable in the landmark insolvency of Arca Investments, in which BADOKH successfully advised the company to the point of the court appointing a designated trustee and allowing the company’s reorganisation. Although the company’s registered seat is in Slovakia, BADOKH managed to open the main insolvency proceeding in the Czech Republic, arguing that the company’s centre of main interest had been relocated to the Czech Republic. The firm has also advised large debtors, creditors and investors in multiple local and cross-border in-court and out-of-court restructurings and insolvencies, including the reorganisations of major local hard coal producers OKD, large local manufacturing conglomerate VITKOVICE and real estate company L88 (an owner of Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty facilities in the Czech Republic).
