Julio Lujambio, Partner - Pérez-Llorca
Julio Lujambio joined Pérez-Llorca in 2005 and became a partner in 2014. He is an expert in Corporate/M&A and Capital Markets. Julio is a dual-qualified lawyer, authorised to act as a lawyer in both Spain and Mexico. Julio is an expert in Corporate/M&A and Capital Markets. On the M&A side, Julio has experience advising on all types of transactions for the acquisition or transfer of shares and assets of private and listed companies, negotiation of investment and shareholders’ agreements and the setting up of joint ventures. On the Capital Markets side, Julio’s experience includes advising on IPO’s, admissions to trading on the Spanish stock exchanges and the Spanish Alternative Market, block trades and corporate governance of listed companies.
Carmen Reyna, Partner - Pérez-Llorca
Carmen Reyna joined Pérez-Llorca in 2005 and she was made partner in January 2013. As an expert in Corporate Law, she advises national as well as foreign clients on all types of corporate transactions. Carmen has more than 15 years of experience in corporate law advice, particularly in mergers and acquisitions, private equity investments, the creation and winding up of joint ventures and corporate restructures. She advises national as well as foreign clients on high-profile mergers, acquisitions and joint ventures. Her advice covers the initial phase, which involves the signing of the confidentiality contract and the letter of intention as well as the preparation and/or realisation of due diligence; the intermediate phase, which involves the buying of assets or shares, the shareholders’ agreement etc.; and additional aspects of acquisitions and investments. In private equity transactions, Carmen has participated as a legal advisor, in minority and majority share acquisitions (MBOs, MBIs and BIMBOs) and in settled acquisitions (LBOs, LBIs and LMBOs).
Jesús López Bragado, Senior VP Legal Affairs - NH Hotel
Since 2017 Jesús is the Senior Vice President of Legal Affairs at NH Hotel Group, a listed hotels operator with a portfolio of more than 350 hotels comprising owned, leased, managed and franchised assets. With a team based across 8 different countries (Spain, Germany, the Netherlands, Italy, Portugal, Mexico, Colombia and Argentina), he leads the legal function globally and is responsible for supporting the presence of the company in more than 30 jurisdictions in Europe and Latam. He also serves as Secretary of the Board of Directors of Coperama, a purchasing platform for the hotel industry with a catalog of around 1,000 suppliers. His past experience includes a secondment in Barclays Bank in London in 2006 and more than 15 years in Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer, where he gained extensive experience in public and private M&A, corporate finance and debt and corporate restructuring. He regularly lectures as visiting professor at IE Law School.
Fernando Beguiristain, General Counsel - Acciona Concesiones
A lawyer specialised in renewable energy projects, across the whole spectrum of the business (development, construction, operation and marketing of energy and emissions reduction instruments), and concession projects, currently developing his practice in infrastructure concession projects and PPP projects, with a special focus on M&A, corporate structuring of complex transactions, collaboration agreements, investment and partnerships, tenders, construction contracts and financings.
Monica Urrutia, Senior Director Human Resources - Gilead
Monica has over 20 years of multinational business experience in the area of human resources. She holds a degree in law from the University of Deusto in Spain, an MBA from the Universidad de Alcalá de Henares and has completed the Advanced Management Programme at the ESADE Business and Law school. She has lived in different countries such as Germany, Italy, the USA, Canada, Japan, Singapore, and Hong Kong, and has worked in different multinationals such as Philips, Inditex, Orange, Ferrovial and Lloyd’s Register in roles related to HR and business partner. She speaks Spanish, English, Italian, German and Basque and is passionate about building a better future, designing long-term career development strategies, improving the wellbeing of employees, and is committed to identifying, developing and supporting leaders to ensure first-class organisations.
Janine Heim, Deputy Editor - Chambers and Partners
Before joining Chambers, Janine studied Communication and Archaeology at the University of Queensland in Australia. After graduating, she worked for a start-up in Brisbane before going to the University of Bristol to pursue a Master’s in International Security. She further completed a PG Certificate in Antiquities Trafficking and Art Crime at the University of Glasgow and is fluent in both German and English.
