Debt financing in Spain: a growing list of options
This seminar will review in particular the world of corporate financing and refinancing for companies with plans of growth, and those with less favorable prospects. It will also look at leveraged transactions and review the terms and conditions for loan and bond products and how far they converge.

Rafael joined Garrigues in 1988 and was made partner in 1996. He advises financial institutions, private equity firms, industry groups and public authorities on regulatory matters and on a range of corporate and financing transactions (mergers and acquisitions, private equity fundraising, structured finance, etc.).
With a degree in Business Administration from CUNEF and a Master’s Degree in Stock Exchanges and Financial Markets from IEB, Pablo hasspent half of his professional career in banking (Caja Madrid, Banesto and RBS) in different areas of structured finance (LBOs, project finance, real estate finance).
Pablo moved into the infrastructure industry in 2009 after joining the Isolux Group, performing various functions within the international finance department. In 2015 Pablo joined Sacyr as International Finance Director and is currently Group Finance Director.
Javier has over 19 years' experience in Debt Capital Markets and Structured Finance. He has worked for Citigroup and the Royal Bank of Scotland for 15 years in Madrid.
Javier also holds and Executive MBA at IE and a Masters in Finance from CUNEF. He currently leads the DCM and Debt Advisory franchise as partner in Alantra.
Gaspar Atienza is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial Law practice of Garrigues, where he has pursued the majority of his professional career.
He advises on all kinds of structured finance deals and restructuring processes, including corporate finance transactions (domestic and transnational) and financing of energy and infrastructure projects.
He has also participated in a large number of M&A transactions and provides recurring advice on corporate, commercial and contractual matters to a wide range of clients, enabling him to gain a broad understanding of commercial transactions as a whole, while consolidating his expertise in the finance industry.
Naiara Bueno Aybar is a Partner in the Corporate/Commercial Law Department at Garrigues, where she has pursued her entire professional career.
She specializes mainly in the banking industry, debt restructuring (including pre-insolvency advisory services), finance and insurance, private equity, collective investment vehicles, capital and debt instrument issues, as well as integral corporate/commercial advisory services, including advice on corporate governance-related matters (functioning of and/or dispute resolution on corporate bodies).
Elsewhere, she also practices in the areas of corporate and project finance.
She provides recurring advice on regulatory, financial and business-related aspects of domestic and international acquisition, structural modification and debt and/or business restructuring transactions, taking in advice on securities market law, by providing legal services to listed companies. Moreover, she has a proven domestic and international track record of takeover bids.
Gonzalo García-Fuertes is a partner in the Corporate/Commercial Department of Garrigues, where he has spent his entire career. He specializes in corporate/commercial law, mainly banking & finance law and securities market law, and is regarded as an expert in asset securitization, issues of fixed- and variable-income securities and tender offers.
He has broad experience in a wide range of structured transactions (e.g. project finance, project bonds, financial derivatives, structured bonds, corporate finance) and other banking transactions. He has also participated in numerous transactions involving the sale and purchase of distressed assets and in other M&A transactions.
In light of his experience, he has taken part in many of the most innovative fixed-income, securitization and structured financing transactions performed in Spain in recent years, garnering plaudits from various national and international publications.
