About

Provided by Zurcher, Odio & Raven

ZOR´s Competition/Antitrust Department is a practice built on litigation depth and institutional insight, not merely merger notifications. In the past year, the Department advised multiple competition matters across a broad spectrum of sectors: automobile, retail, technology, construction, hospitality, agroindustry, telecommunications, medical devices and food, among many others.

The Department is led by three partners who have practised competition law together for close to two decades. Claudio Donato Monge, former President of COPROCOM, provides institutional insight that gives a unique strategic perspective in complex matters. Marco López Volio is recognised for combining antitrust work with intellectual property and public law expertise. Claudio Antonio Donato López combines antitrust technical skill with an academic background in finance. Together, the team brings close to a century of combined competition law experience. Twenty years working side by side have given the team a shared strategic vision, common analytical methods and coordinated workflows — a synergy that shows in faster turnarounds and ensures analysis of multiple angles and perspectives.

The firm served as counsel to the claimant in the case that led to the highest fine ever imposed by the Telecommunications Superintendency. It has obtained clearance for over 50 concnetrations and it is also currently lead counsel in the judicial challenge to the largest cartel sanction COPROCOM has ever issued.
