Yoon & Yang’s Shipping & Maritime Practice Group provides a full range of legal advisory and dispute settlement services on all types of maritime disputes and transactions for domestic and foreign aircraft owners and ship charterers, P&I clubs (e.g., Mutual Protection and Indemnity Insurance Association), maritime insurance companies, maritime/aviation freight forwarders, government agencies, and shippers of every type. The Shipping & Maritime Practice Group consists of professionals who specialize in litigations and provision of advisory services of the highest quality relating to maritime and shipping matters. The members of the Practice Group have extensive hands-on experience and expertise in representing and advising domestic and foreign clients on a wide variety of issues in this area.

Yoon & Yang’s Shipping & Maritime Practice Group is headed by Sang-Pil Lee, one of the most experienced maritime attorneys in Korea. Sang-Pil Lee currently serves as a pleader at the Korean Maritime Safety Tribunal.

The Group also recently hired Elayne Heeseung Sung from Lee & Ko, where she concentrated her practice in shipping finance from 2001 to 2022. Elayne is expected to bring to Yoon & Yang decades of experience advising major financial institutions and Korean shipping companies.
