About
Provided by Wong & Partners member firm of Baker McKenzie International
Our intellectual property (IP) practice advises clients on all aspects of IP issues in Malaysia, including trademark portfolio management, design and patent registration, enforcement of IP rights, licencing/media agreements preparation, IP audits, transactional IP, and IP or trademark litigation. We are immersed in innovation-driven businesses—from technology to pharmaceuticals, life sciences and medical devices—and can provide sound counsel on the protection, use, exploitation and enforcement of IP for different industries.
We can provide integrated and coordinated advice on intersecting issues of IP ownership, development, use, sale or acquisition, migration and protection during the most intricate cross-border deals or amid changes in the corporate environment.
Our trademark services include prosecution, portfolio management, and advisory work. We perform trademark search and clearance, including non-traditional marks like scent, sound, 3D shapes, and color-only marks.
We manage global filings and handle administrative tasks. We also advise on, negotiate, and draft trademark assignments and licensing agreements, and handle commercial transactions. As a member of a global firm, we implement anti-counterfeiting programs, opposition and cancellation proceedings, and infringement litigation.
We have a dedicated patents team in Malaysia who take a solution-oriented approach, providing advice in patent registrations, licencing, litigation, advisory work and patent prosecution.
