Overview

With more than 100 IP attorneys firmwide, Winston & Strawn’s Texas IP attorneys have obtained headline-grabbing results in several high-stakes cases. Our Texas offices include an active patent litigation and trade secret litigation practice, with in-house forensics experience, providing clients with the skills required to handle the technology challenges inherent in trade secret and other IP litigation.

In February 2017, Winston significantly expanded its Texas practice with the addition of 25 prominent partners joining from nine different firms and the opening of a Dallas office. The group brings substantial experience in disputes and transactional matters—including intellectual property. Anchoring our Dallas team are prominent Texas litigators Thomas Melsheimer, Matthew Orwig, Natalie Arbaugh, and Steven Stodghill, and according to a Texas lawyer recently interviewed by D Magazine, this move was described as “the equivalent of starting a firm with an Olympic all-star team.”

The firm’s expansion into Dallas, one of the nation’s fastest-growing financial and business centers, enhances Winston’s ability to deliver outstanding service to clients with operations in this metropolitan area and beyond. Our new Dallas service offerings complement our well-established and award-winning Houston IP platform and significantly bolster the firm’s Texas presence.
