We have a robust and established traditional dispute resolution practice along with specific expertise in domestic and international commercial arbitration which has quickly emerged as the preferred dispute resolution mechanism in India. The Firm is praised for its punctilious approach to work. The Firm has a historical connection with the Courts in Mumbai going back as far as 1883 when the disputes team conducted matters on a regular basis before the Bombay High Court and all major civil and criminal courts. 

In 2023, our disputes team conducted matters regularly and effectively before High Courts, civil and criminal courts, and tribunals including the National Company Law Tribunal, Securities Appellate Tribunal, and the Debt Recovery  Tribunal across the country through our offices and associates. Additionally, with a sturdy litigation office in Delhi, our team also regularly appears before the Supreme Court of India.

Key work highlight -

1. Advised HDFC Bank Limited in respect of the largest merger in corporate history which involves amalgamation among HDFC Investments Ltd. and HDFC Holdings Ltd., into its holding company i.e. Housing Development Finance Corporation Ltd. and thereafter HDFC Ltd.’s amalgamation into the Bank.
