The Tilleke & Gibbins Corporate and M&A practice group regularly serves both international clients wishing to acquire operations in Thailand and domestic clients wishing to invest in businesses abroad. Free-trade agreements and financial liberalization make companies in Southeast Asia attractive assets for foreign investors, while the increased strength of regional currencies and economies has encouraged local operators to invest internationally to increase their competitiveness. Our practice not only assist clients in conducting due diligence work for acquisition of businesses in Thailand, we also advise on legal requirements under local laws, draft and/or review the definitive agreement including ancillary agreements thereto, proceed to complete the merger and acquisition registrations, prepare necessary applications to apply for relevant permits/licenses and notifications with the concerned authorities, provide corporate and tax planning/advice on the contemplated transaction, and where necessary, restructure the business organization after the merger and acquisition has been implemented.

We also assist clients in corporate formation, and on obtaining necessary licenses to operate their businesses in Thailand.
