About

Provided by St John's Chambers

St John’s Chambers has extensive experience across all types of construction and engineering projects, from international arbitrations and major infrastructure schemes to residential building disputes. We act for end users, main contractors, subcontractors, professionals and their insurers, offering cost-effective advice and representation at every stage of a project, however large or small.

Our barristers are regularly instructed by solicitors, but many are also available for direct access by companies, firms and private individuals. We can work alongside claims consultants and, where appropriate, provide specialist representation without the need for a solicitor.

Several members of the team are independently accredited mediators or adjudicators, and can act as neutrals to assist in resolving disputes efficiently. Others have significant expertise in adjudication, advising on jurisdiction, tactics and representation—whether acting with or without a solicitor or consultant.

We provide specialist knowledge of the Construction Act, payment and notice provisions, and represent clients in adjudications, arbitrations (domestic and international), and litigation at all court levels. Whether you need a decision-maker, mediator, or experienced advocate, we can offer the right expertise for your case.
