We assist clients who want to enter Indonesia's banking, financing and insurance markets, advising on all legal aspects of establishing and operating financial institutions in Indonesia. We prepare loan agreements and security documents for financial institutions, both within and outside Indonesia, and help investors to establish and operate mutual funds and pension plans.
SSEK's banking and finance team also serves as Indonesian counsel to foreign lenders on project finance and syndicated commercial loan transactions and assists with corporate debt restructurings and workouts of all sizes and complexities. We act for banks with respect to their regulatory and corporate needs and with respect to specific banking products.
Recent work highlights
- Assisted PT Danareksa, an Indonesian state-owned enterprise engaged in financial services, in becoming established as a Holding State-Owned Enterprise.
Acted for Jakarta-based Bank Index and its majority shareholders in a share subscription. transaction with Modalku, a digital platform that specializes in short-term financing for MSMEs, and Singapore-based used-car platform Trusty Cars Pte. Ltd.
- Advised PT Pertamina Gas (Pertagas), a subsidiary of PT Pertamina, Indonesia’s largest state-owned oil and natural gas corporation, on a facility agreement with PT Bank DBS Indonesia and PT Bank BPTN Tbk.
