SOLCARGO provides legal advice and representation in regards to the development of infrastructure projects related to the environmental field, manufacturing facilities, any business concerning environmentally sensitive areas or industries highly regulated in Mexico. Specific services include the following:

Permitting and Audits 

Our expertise in this regard includes: water rights concessions and discharge permits; handling and treatment authorizations for hazardous waste generation;  and environmental impact assessments, risk assessments and single integrated environmental licenses before the Environmental Ministry and the Water Commission (CONAGUA).

Project Development

• Feasibility analysis: overview of the environmental regulatory framework; environmental legal and regulatory feasibility analysis; and liaising with and advocating before government agencies.

• Pre-construction: environmental impact authorizations; transfer of rights and duties, and site selection matters.

• Construction: advise on soil and water pollution measures; ensuring compliance with conditions imposed by environmental authorizations; counsel on contractual arrangements with subcontractors and suppliers to limit environmental liabilities.

Environmental Litigation

SOLCARGO handles administrative judicial and quasi-judicial proceedings before the Federal Attorney’s Office for Environmental Protection, CONAGUA, their local counterparts, and the federal courts, respectively.
