We advise on and represent clients in court and before the relevant tribunals on matters related to corporate tax, sales and service tax, real property gains tax, employment tax, stamp duty, customs duties and excise, anti-dumping and safeguards, and rates and assessments. We also advise and guide clients in respect of tax incentives available in Malaysia including tax exemptions and allowances to enhanced tax deductions.
The practice is headed by Preetha Pillai who brings her 20 over years of commercial litigation practice experience to handling tax disputes.
In the area of trade tariffs, Lim Koon Huan has acted for major exporters in anti-dumping and safeguard challenges. She is recognised in the Who’s Who Legal global rankings for Trade & Customs as a “widely recognised figure in the Malaysian market, and is commended for her great expertise in the space”.
Vijay Raj specialises in rates and valuation appeals in court, having acted for oil & gas companies in challenging the imposition of rates by the local governments upon pipelines and refineries.
