About

Provided by Seyfarth Shaw LLP

Seyfarth's multidisciplinary transportation team draws from each of the firm’s departments and across our global platform in order to provide coordinated and full-service counsel. For more than 30 years, our group has been at the forefront of the legal issues and developments impacting the auto industry. We have helped our clients develop, grow, restructure, and defend their dealer networks and franchise systems to achieve their business and strategic objectives. We advise clients on regulatory shifts and novel challenges created by technological innovations, including electric and autonomous vehicles, as well as changing consumer behaviors that are reshaping the transportation industry and distribution models.

We launched a Future of Automotive taskforce to help clients develop appropriate strategies for the evolving landscape while minimizing disruption to business. This taskforce monitors legal and regulatory changes, and  advises clients on cutting-edge developments like emissions-related matters, the Right to Repair Act, telematics, and more.

We continue to represent many of the largest manufacturers and distributors (both domestic and international) on matters touching every aspect of their businesses, including but not limited to franchise/distribution, labor and employment, corporate, antitrust, data privacy/protection, product liability, and more.
