What the Team is Known For

RPC has a strong Hong Kong litigation practice which is acknowledged for its strength in professional indemnity cases, regularly representing lawyers, accountants and other services professionals. The team often defends accountancy firms and auditors against allegations of misconduct and is also instructed on banking and finance disputes, particularly those with investment banks as counterparty. It offers additional expertise in insurance litigation and data protection cases, as well as recovery and enforcement actions.

Strengths

I chose them because I was confident they would do a professional job suited to my needs, plus do everything in their power to minimise costs on my behalf. They achieved that balance.

RPC can quickly understand the case, tidy up the relevant points and give us professional advice to our satisfaction

They kept an open mind in terms of building a sustainable relationship for both sides. They always had our best interests in mind.

Work Highlights

RPC advised FTI Consulting Hong Kong as the trustees of the bankruptcy estate of Chu Jiaru on their duties under Hong Kong's bankruptcy regime, the bankrupt's application to annul the bankruptcy order made against her and the bankrupt's application to challenge the trustees' decision not to commence an intended legal action on her behalf as detrimental to interests of the estate.

Notable practitioners

Charles Allen is adept at handling a range of commercial disputes, from product liability claims to employment disputes to claims for breach of contract and fiduciary duties.

Charles Allen took a personal interest in my situation at the beginning, demonstrating a remarkable dedication to his clients that both greatly surprised and pleased me.

He's a very good litigator.

Jonathan Crompton focuses on finance disputes, with additional experience in cyber-incidents and cryptocurrency matters, as well as professional negligence claims.
