Intellectual Property department at ROWAN LEGAL is primarily focused on ICT related IP with the main focus on software development, protection of intellectual property in electronic transactions, data ownership and SW related patents with the strong background in traditional IP related to trademarks and patents. ROWAN members have not only legal education but we hire people with legal and technical education combined if possible (programmers, IT security consultants) in order to be able to assist our IT-based clients in all areas of their business (such as complex open source licensing arrangements).
Our clients are seeking complex advisory, not only separate IP aspects but we frequently focus on data protection, labour law (especially with software development) and business opportunities (protection of business ideas, projects). We have several clients among start-ups and technology-based companies with cases involving different legal views than the “traditional” IP protectors especially with regards to information society services or protection of database.
