RIAA Barker Gillette has an unrivalled track record as Pakistan’s leading Projects and Energy Firm. The Firm has acted as counsel in Pakistan’s most defining projects, including the first independent power project set up in Pakistan (Hub Power), Pakistan’s largest international airport in Karachi and the first motorway in Pakistan established by the private sector  (Islamabad - Lahore) in the 1990s. Our Partners have previous experience of working in industry as well as state institutions and regulatory bodies, giving them a unique ability to move transactions forward.

The firm has been counsel in approximately 90% of the power projects in Pakistan. Recently, the team has been advising on the development of various kinds of distributed solar solutions, with clients including both, developers and consumers. Further, in the wake of the China Pakistan Economic Corridor, the Firm is representing Siddiqsons Energy Limited, Thalnova Power Thar (Private) Limited, Lucky Electric Power Company Limited, who are developers of coal-fired power plants, and Azad Pattan Power (Private) Limited, which is developing a hydro-electric power generation facility.

We advise on project structuring, draft and negotiate project and finance documents, engineering, procurement and construction contracts and shareholders agreements. The firm also represents clients in negotiations with the PPIB and NTDC and before NEPRA.
