Poyner Spruill’s environmental team has in-depth experience with the full range of environmental programs. It has guided clients in utilizing all programs available to redevelop the environmentally impaired property in North Carolina, including the brownfields, petroleum underground storage tank, and dry cleaning solvent programs.   Their regulatory expertise includes wetlands compliance and mitigation, watershed and buffer requirements, stormwater compliance, and wastewater and solid and hazardous waste permitting and compliance.  They litigate environmental issues in the Office of Administrative Hearings, State courts, and before local boards and commissions.  The team is headed by Glenn Dunn and Keith Johnson.  Glenn is former General Counsel to the Department of Natural Resources and Community Development ( now Department of Environmental Quality ) and a member of the Legal Elite Hall of Fame for environmental law.  In 2018, Keith was named the ® “Lawyer of the Year” for Environmental Law in the Raleigh area.
