Our lawyers advise Portuguese and foreign clients on complex asset purchase and sale transactions, including the structuring and implementation of acquisitions of non-performing loan portfolios. The team works with the firm's other practices to cover all matters relevant to banking and finance, in particular tax and litigation.

We advise on banking and investment services regulatory matters, in particular the establishment of branches in Portugal and the cross-border provision of services under the European free movement of services regime. The firm has acted as intermediaries with the Portuguese regulatory authorities on many occasions.

We also provide legal assistance to our clients in matters relating to financial derivatives and have been actively involved in the design of structured risk management operations. Our team has also reviewed the documentation and procedures relating to these types of transactions for our clients, in order to adapt them to recent legal and regulatory developments.
