About

Provided by Peixoto e Cury Advogados

A medium-sized firm with more than 70 years, Peixoto & Cury Advogados has a standout tax team led by 2 partners with nearly 20 years of substantial tax and accounting experience, which includes working in “big four” firms and participating in complex M&A and corporate restructuring transactions.

Our tax department advises national companies leaders in their fields and large multinationals with both daily tax issues and complex matters, such as (i) structuring compensation models applicable to top executives, including stock option, LTI, RSU; (ii) debt financing transaction, including debentures, commercial papers, real estate bonds etc.; (iii) structuring tax planning both for buy side and sell side, considering different procedures of paying (receiving) the acquisition price.

Our practice has also been advising clients on the digital economy, especially with focus in how to address the taxes that are triggered on the remittance of money to foreign developers, the applicable legislation considering the existence of a Double Tax Treaty and, depending on the case, by switching the nature of the payment (royalties; technical services; profits; etc.) with the amendment of the agreements.

While we have a team of partners and associates with educational and professional background normally seem only in large full-service firms, we are also able to offer our clients a personalized service, focusing on the uniqueness of each case, due to our leaner structure.
