The scope of our practice is international, with Norton Rose Fulbright South Africa Inc. undertaking projects in more than 36 African countries. Our team (a combination of South African and English law qualified lawyers and solicitors) is well-regarded as a leader for its ability to advise on project financings, and provides regular counsel to a number of prominent clients including lenders, sponsors, developers, institutional investors, contractors and operators in all areas relating to structured and project finance.

Our Project finance practice is enhanced in that we brings significant skills and experience in all aspects of projects across the sectors of energy, financial institutions, infrastructure, mining, telecoms and transport, in each case backed by global experts who are available as and when needed. We provide a full service team that provides advise on critical key areas of environmental, real estate and construction and related development areas. These include water supply agreements, permits and authorisations, servitudes and lease option agreements. On the construction side - EPC, EPCM agreements, off-take contracts, completion guarantees, performance guarantees, operation and maintenance and management service agreements.
