Overview

Murphy & King, P.C.’s Bankruptcy and Financial Restructuring Group is regularly engaged by debtors, creditors, creditors’ committees, estate fiduciaries, and investors nationwide to represent their interests in a variety of situations, from formal insolvency proceedings to out-of-court workouts, throughout the United States. We have experience representing clients in all types of industries, including real estate, hospitality, health care, technology, telecommunications, manufacturing, and retail. We are regularly selected to serve as the estate representative and counsel in Chapter 7 and Chapter 11 cases, as examiner in Chapter 11 cases, receiver and counsel to receiver in state and federal court actions, and as assignee for the benefit of creditors in state law insolvency proceedings. We have substantial experience litigating complex adversary proceedings involving avoidance actions, lender liability, and fiduciary responsibilities. Our experienced team recognizes the unique challenges, pressures and risks that arise when a business is in trouble, and we make it our business to harness our expertise to maximize value for our clients.
