Miranda’s experience is most notable in oil and gas, mining, banking, labor, general commercial law, tax, project finance and PPPs. Miranda is also known for drafting statutes and regulations for the Government and regulatory authorities.

Our Timor-Leste team is backed by a Jurisdiction Team in Lisbon of selected attorneys in different areas of expertise. This is highly appreciated by our key clients who often seek assistance directly from the attorneys based in Lisbon.

All our local attorneys and 7 of the Lisbon-based members of the jurisdiction team are qualified to practice law in Timor-Leste. In addition, 3 of such attorneys (Ricardo Alves Silva, João Leite and Renato Guerra Almeida) passed the Timor-Leste law examinations for international attorneys organized by Centro de Formação Jurídica, which is the authority responsible for supervising the legal profession in Timor-Leste. This is a unique figure in comparison with other international firms with presence in Timor-Leste.

Miranda was honored to be part of the Timor-Leste petroleum team during the recent Maritime Boundary Negotiations with Australia.
