Minton Morrill have a leading (Band 1) Clinical Negligence team with ranked lawyers including Simon Minton and Julia Morrill (both Band 1), Sahida Patel (Band 2) and Guy Pomphrey (Associate to Watch) together with 3 other lawyers. 

The team handle a wide range of medical negligence cases with particular expertise in high value and complex birth injury cerebral palsy, meningitis and other infectious diseases child injury cases. 

The lawyers work closely with colleagues in the firm’s Court of Protection team who act as Professional Deputies or Trustees to manage clients’ compensation.  

This full-service approach extends to other areas of work and lawyers will often represent families at Inquests prior to investigating civil claims stemming from deaths in healthcare.    

Within the year the team have settled a number of maximum severity cerebral palsy cases equating to over £30 million in compensation. One of these cases, conducted by Sahida Patel, settled for over £15 million on a capitalised basis. The team are currently instructed on other similar high-profile maximum severity cases.

A range of other cases have also settled including a £600,000+ settlement for a mother who negligently sustained a serious perineal tear in childbirth and a series of Fatal Accident cases.
