One interviewee recognises Sharma for his "knowledge and expertise working on US-Canada cross-border issues," adding that he "gets a lot of the key points on the US side, which allows him to very quickly analyse complex trust matters and find a solution." Sharma's client-handling skills are also praised; one source says that "he is responsive, organised, knowledgeable and always prepared to offer his perspective and ideas."

William Fowlis QC is a tax specialist, "which gives him unique insights into tax planning" for high net worth clients, according to one private wealth industry source who adds that he is "very experienced with trusts, private corporations and high net worth individuals. His analysis is complete and he is a creative tax planner." Another peer says that "he has produced great work over the years and is a talented man of ability."
