Out Chicago practice is a standalone tax department – 80% of our work is self-generated, so it comes directly to the tax team, not via the corporate or litigation departments – a reverse of the normal position in large law firms.

We maintain the premier trusts and estates practice in Illinois. A sizeable team of partners in Chicago advise wealthy individuals, family offices, and trust companies.

McDermott is one of few large firms with a high-end in-house transfer pricing team. In particular, we are one of few firms with expertise in state transfer pricing.
