Corporate/M&A: Private Equity - Asia-Pacific Region

1
Band 1

What the Team is Known For

Kirkland & Ellis maintains a leading private equity platform representing the firm's stellar US clients in financial investments in China and further across Asia. The firm is increasingly active on behalf of Asian clients, including sovereign wealth funds, and is also known for its work on M&A transactions, including take-privates, private acquisitions and Hong Kong takeovers. The firm is especially well placed for China-related mandates through its Beijing and Hong Kong offices, and also fields a highly commended India practice.

Strengths

They’re one of the best law firms I’ve worked with. They are not only strong technically but are also commercially minded.

Work Highlights

Kirkland & Ellis represented Crescent Point Capital in Ares Management's acquisition of its platform, which had assets worth approximately USD3.8 billion under management.

Kirkland & Ellis assisted L Catterton Asia Acquisition Corp with its business combination with Lotus Technology. The combined business had a pro forma enterprise value of approximately USD5.4 billion.

Notable practitioners

Joey Chau and Brian Ho are key contacts in Hong Kong, while Srinivas Kaushik is a key contact for India-related matters.
