  • Jenner & Block represented a group of unemployed workers before the US Supreme Court in a civil rights case concerning access to judicial review of state unemployment benefits determinations. The Court reversed the Alabama Supreme Court, holding that claimants may bring federal civil rights claims in state court without first exhausting state administrative processes, where those processes are alleged to be defective.
