About

Provided by Hunton Andrews Kurth LLP

Hunton’s Miami-based insurance coverage team is a global leader on cyber insurance issues, providing comprehensive service to clients in the US, UK, Canada, and elsewhere. Working closely with the firm’s top-ranked privacy and cybersecurity practice, we have handled major breaches and ransomware attacks since 2019, including the largest attack on critical infrastructure in US history. In 2025, the team represented several clients on ransomware-related coverage, including Fortune 500 companies, and continued to serve as lead cyber insurance counsel for three of the five largest US asset managers.

In addition to our cyber insurance work, our practice is known for insurance claims involving alleged pollution events, including separate matters involving one of the country’s largest petroleum pipelines, the largest producer of sugar cane, and one of the oldest electric and natural gas companies in the US. The team also represents major real estate developers in wrongful death, construction defect, and catastrophe claims, and handles D&O claims, particularly antitrust, shareholder derivative, and SPAC and IPO transaction matters. We regularly represent financial institutions across coverage lines and are currently representing a major financial institution in coverage litigation seeking recovery for a nine-figure loss.

Our Miami insurance coverage lawyers also guide clients through cross-border insurance issues and regularly advise major Latin American banking institutions.
