Overview

Our lawyers have experience in every aspect of power generation, transmission, and wholesale and retail sales. We represent clients globally by advising and assisting with regulatory approvals, compliance, development and financing of power projects, purchases and sales of power and existing power projects, and renewable energy credits.

We have broad experience with regulation involving the Electric Reliability Council of Texas, Public Utility Commission of Texas, Southeastern Reliability Council, Southwest Power Pool and Western Electricity Coordinating Council. We represent clients before the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission, Regional Transmission Organizations and Independent System Operators. Our lawyers understand the regulatory risks and opportunities that form the framework for commercial power markets and that impact transmission siting, rate recovery, service by load-serving entities, and risks to end users.

We not only have a solid foundation built on fossil-fueled power generation but also have become increasingly active in renewable energy, including wind, solar and biomass power generation.

Our clients include independent producers, large-end users, electric cooperatives, municipalities, financial institutions, project developers, transmission and distribution utilities, power marketers, retail providers, large industrial and commercial customers, and investors.
