Overview

GRATA International’s Corporate & Finance department is one of the biggest dedicated team of lawyers in Central Asia. It is rapidly growing, currently comprises over 10 local lawyers, almost all with second law degrees from the UK, USA or other western leading universities, the majority being based in Almaty and Astana (Kazakhstan).

Additionally, the team has unique experience in projects finance and PPP deals (e.g. such unprecedented projects as:

a) Chemical Producing Plant in South Kazakhstan (USD 2 bn. total value infrastructure project);

b)  Balkhash Power Plant project (debut USD 4 bn. Independent Power Producer (IPP) project in the Republic of Kazakhstan);

c) Beineu – Shymkent gas pipeline project;

GRATA International a leading local legal counsel in the area of capital markets has got vast experience working on Eurobonds (e.g. advised on the Eurobonds issued by JSC Samruk Energy, JSC Kaspi Bank, Eastcomtrans LLP etc) and IPOs (e.g. advised Credit Suisse, UBS Investment Bank) for both underwriters and issuers.
