Work Highlights

Provided by Chambers

  • Gibson Dunn represented Dewberry Capital before the US Supreme Court in a trademark dispute concerning the scope of profits recoverable under the Lanham Act. The Court unanimously vacated a Fourth Circuit–affirmed award requiring Dewberry to disgorge nearly $43 million in profits earned by non‑party corporate affiliates, holding that the statute permits recovery only of the defendant’s own profits.
