Our Customs and International Trade practice focuses on advising domestic and international clients on issues regarding global trade of goods and services. We assist our clients with strategic planning, project development, and the maximisation of opportunities offered through the Mexican legal framework and Mexico's international trade and investment agreements.
We advise clients on the implementation of various mechanisms available in Mexico to promote manufacturing and international trade, including the Mquiladora (IMMEX) and PROSEC programs, Value Added Tax (VAT) Certification, and other incentive regimes.
We also assist clients in navigating the complex processes involved in tariff classification, obtaining import and export permits, licenses and certificates, and conducting comprehensive import/export compliance assessments.
In addition, we actively represent clients in domestic and international antidumping and subsidy investigations, safeguard measures, and related litigation and arbitration proceedings involving customs and international trade cases.
Our specialised international trade team has extensive experience advising leading companies in oil & gas, renewable energy, electricity, mining, telecommunications, e-commerce and retail, food and beverage, pharmaceutical, automotive, and chemical matters.
