This set musters around 130 members and is the oldest in Perth, having been established in 1962. It is also the favoured set of many of Western Australia's most eminent barristers, housing practitioners who are often particularly well qualified to advocate or advise in practice areas linked to the state's key industries, including environmental, mining and native title law. Pauline McKay, the set's executive officer, is a key contact.

Patricia Cahill SC maintains a comprehensive commercial practice which attracts recommendations from practitioners in, among others, the construction, insolvency, insurance and taxation spheres and embraces both litigation and arbitration. One interviewee calls her "a leading silk at the Western Australian Bar for corporate commercial matters," adding that "her attention to detail is remarkable," while another says: "She's an absolute standout: a fantastic, balanced and poised trial advocate with the ability to expose the weaknesses of an opponent's position and not afraid to roll her sleeves up to master the materials."

Stephen Wright SC offers experience in native title and related issues, acquired in government service, private practice and at the Bar, stretching back some 25 years and is considered "a pre-eminent native title senior counsel" and "a superb litigator" by interviewees. Sources particularly appreciate the fact that he is "versatile and adaptable and not weighed down by political preconceptions," attributes which equip him well to act for traditional owner parties, proponents and government agencies, and he is also noted to be especially active in the claims space.
