What the Team is Known For

Fountain Court houses talented commercial litigators at all levels of seniority. Its barristers are regulars in the most high-value and eye-catching cases of the day, routinely appearing in the Commercial Court, Financial List and Chancery Division. Although best known for their skill in banking and finance cases, they undertake a truly broad sweep of work and have involvement in major matters across the commercial spectrum. Recent examples of significant cases handled include: Paccar Inc and Others v Road Haulage Association Limited & Another, a successful leapfrog appeal to the Supreme Count concerning the validity of the litigation funding agreement used in the high-profile trucks cartel case; ModernaTX Inc v Pfizer and BioNTech, a case arising out of the licensing of mRNA technology used in COVID-19 vaccinations; and

Strengths

Fountain Court is the best on the clerking and admin side. Team leader Luke Diebelius is always going above and beyond. he is responsive, helpful and pragmatic on fees.

The clerks have been excellent; they are always available, diligent and supportive. Team leader Mark O’Neill, in particular, has been great.

We are very happy to take their clerk's recommendations on juniors, as the quality of the set through the ranks is really profound.

The clerks at Fountain Court are always responsive, and when you need things urgently they are ready to pull out all the stops.

Senior clerk Alex Taylor is the best clerk in the City. He is as good as it gets. I speak to him about strategic initiatives at my firm.

David Railton KC is very bright and expresses himself beautifully.

 

A man with natural authority, whom people speak of reverentially. Excellent for heavy commercial disputes, he's someone who can carry a case from cradle to grave. He blends brilliance with decency.

Charles is one of the finest and most versatile advocates. He's a man to go to for big strategic cases.
