The department is best known for its specialist Abuse & Inquests team with over 20 years’ experience in acting for victims of abuse, human rights act claims, fatal accidents, civil claims following inquests, and claims against Local Authorities. The team has an exceptional national reputation, receiving referrals from fellow legal professionals, charities and instructions from The Official Solicitor.  The department is also backed by a Legal Aid franchise in this particular area of work.  Head of team Jonathan Bridge is currently assisting with the high profile Independent Inquiry into Child Sex Abuse, led by Professor. Alexis Jay and the team continue to be instructed on high profile cases and Inquests such as the fatal shooting of Anthony Grainger by Greater Manchester Police.

Members of the wider personal injury team specialise across a wide range of high value and complex matters, including catastrophic injury claims such as brain and spinal injuries; serious injuries; and industrial disease claims.
