About
Provided by Ecija Abogados
For over 23 years, our practice and four specialised partners have advised local and multinational clients in the ever-changing electricity, gas, oil, and renewable energy markets in Ecuador. Our services not only relate to energy and oil and gas law, but also cover a wide range of associated disciplines like tax, environment, planning, corporate law, project financing, M&A and dispute resolution.
Top named clients we were actively advising in the last 12 months, include Baker Hughes, ENAP, new-clients NSE and Consepetro, Ecuador TLC, Alstom, Engie and Schlumberger.
In the last year, ECIJA Ecuador opened two new branches in the most industrialised and fastest growing city in Ecuador (Manta and Cuenca), and in the last four years we have almost tripled the number of lawyers in the firm from 24 to 60.
Our work has attracted the attention of foreign companies further afield entering in the Ecuadorian market, particularly from China who are looking for acquisitions in the sector.
With new hires and with our new offices in all major cities of Ecuador, we are well positioned to cater to a growing energy sector, particularly with the new goal set by the government to increase energy production from 500,000 barrels a day to 1 million, backed by a new investment secretariat.
