Our Competition team in Budapest has extensive and constantly expanding European Union (EU) and Hungarian competition law experience. Our experienced lawyers regularly represent multinational and Hungarian companies in competition matters before the Hungarian Competition Authority (GVH), the Hungarian courts and the EU. We offer our clients a range of skills that includes virtually every aspect of competition law advice, including corporate compliance, advice on some of the largest M&A transactions, representation before the authorities and competition litigation. In close cooperation with the Firm’s offices around the world, we routinely provide legal advice to clients on matters involving Hungarian and EU competition law. We are particularly adept in matters where our clients’ needs demand complex and innovative solutions.
Over the years, we have played a leading role in the preparation of numerous significant merger notifications to the GVH and in assisting our clients with competition investigations initiated against them by the GVH. Specialist lawyers of our office focusing on regulated industries, including our Energy and TMT practice groups, regularly provide sector specific advice to clients with an emphasis on counseling aimed at preventing official proceedings or litigation.
