Our team has extensive experience in structuring, negotiating and documenting all types of commodity finance transactions and acts for the full range of operators through the commodity lifecycle and transaction chain, from assisting clients to finance the extraction of raw materials from the ground through to selling finished products to end users. We have extensive experience advising clients in commodity derivative transactions, commodity finance (including borrowing base facilities, prepayment structures and pre-export financing structures), export-credit agency backed facilities, trade finance, upstream activity (including reserve based lending) and transactionally secured lending. We advise on cross border deals, working in developing markets and worldwide, supported by our international network.


Energy commodities

The team have worked on transactions including inventory monetisation, commodity joint ventures and route-to-market trading arrangements. Clients of the practice include investment banks, commodity trading houses and utilities.


Receivables securitisation and structured finance

Our lawyers provide expert insight into receivables securitisation and structured financings, advising on a variety of transactions including an off balance sheet funding backed by carbon credits, a global trade receivables securitisation and supply chain financing and investing in bonds issued backed by supply chain finance receivables.
