• We advise locally and internationally on acquisition finance, general lending, renewables, project and infrastructure finance, real estate finance, investment trust lending, asset finance, private placements, securitisation, structured finance and restructuring and insolvency.
• In addition we have a deep understanding of the sectors which are core to the Scottish economy. A key example is food & drink where we are the leading finance specialists, advising businesses across the sector such as Baxters Food Group, Edrington Group, Devro, First Milk and Nairns.
• Our Scottish banking team is supported by expertise in derivatives, debt capital markets and financial regulatory. The bulk of Scottish ranked firms do not have access to this expertise and therefore cannot advise clients on the full lifecycle of funding requirements.
• We are one of a few firms in Scotland who advise on securitisation work, working closely with our securitisation team in London. This enables us to provide comprehensive advice on securitisations across the UK. We are the only specialist securitisation team in the Scottish market who do this.
• We act as lead advisors. A large proportion of transactions carried out by Scottish ranked firms are only handled on a secondary or referral basis, not lead advisor basis. This demonstrates our expertise and standing with active funders and borrowers in the market.
