Deneys operates a well-regarded practice group with significant expertise in construction disputes and transactions in South Africa. The firm regularly advises domestic and international clients from the energy and infrastructure sectors on local and cross-border instructions, where it is able to draw upon its extensive international network. The group is particularly active in the renewable energy sector. In March 2026 the firm once again became independent, after more than a decade operating as Norton Rose South Africa.

Deneys advised Harmony Gold on the procurement and construction agreements for the implementation of a renewable energy project which includes solar generation facilities.
