Control Risks’ Cyber Incident Response team, part of the wider Digital Risks practice, supports organisations through major cyber incidents and related crises by combining crisis management, digital forensics, incident response, threat intelligence, technical rebuild and recovery, communications support, and digital extortion advice. The team works with a broad client base, including insurers and their policyholders, large multinational organisations, law firms, private equity portfolios, regulators, charities, professional bodies, technology companies, aviation and engineering firms, and other businesses facing operationally critical cyber events.
Recent work highlights include acting as the dedicated cyber incident response provider for Hiscox and Aviva insureds, supporting major ransomware and extortion matters across sectors, and advising clients on complex issues such as data exfiltration, business interruption, stakeholder communications, sanctions considerations, threat actor engagement, and secure recovery. The practice is particularly specialised in managing high-pressure cyber crises where technical response must be integrated with strategic decision-making, legal and communications coordination, and protection of clients’ operational continuity, reputation, people, finances, and critical assets.
