The Team

CMS Slovenia’s Corporate / M&A and Commercial team led by Saša Sodja is a well-balanced group of experts who work well together to serve and support their varied corporate and commercial clients.

Specialisation

This highly versatile transactional team specialises in a broad range of topics:

  • M&A
  • Private-equity M&A
  • Partial takeovers and share transfers
  • Joint ventures
  • Start-up investments
  • Spin-offs
  • Regulatory and commercial issues
  • Corporate restructuring

They provide sector- / industry-specific advice. Though largely involved in more traditional industries, the team is increasingly branching out into future-oriented sectors. The team continues to build its presence in the start-up community by connecting with various accelerators and developing programmes designed for start-ups.

By focusing on what innovative companies in Slovenia have to offer, especially those active in agritech, biotech, IoT and digital health, the team often steps out its classic legal advisory role and assumes that of a project manager, coordinating whole transactions as well as connecting and guiding all involved parties (tax advisors, accountants, auditors, appraisers, etc.).

Future facing

The team, especially Saša Sodja, is heavily involved in ESG activities, both at our office and on the global level. Saša is a crucial member of the team overseeing the “Socially responsible employer” certification process in CMS Slovenia.
