Accompanying the launch of the Patent Law of the People's Republic of China, China Patent Agent (H.K.) Ltd. (CPA) was established in Hong Kong in March 1984 and is one of the three pioneer Chinese IP agencies. CPA provides comprehensive IP services to clients in China and abroad, with particular expertise in application prosecution, litigation, mediation, licensing, assignment, and counseling relating to various areas of IP including patent, trademark, copyright, domain name, and anti-unfair competition. CPA also prosecutes patent, trademark and design applications for clients in the Hong Kong SAR. Apart from its Hong Kong-based main office, the firm also has offices in Beijing, Shenzhen, Shanghai, New York, Tokyo and Munich.
As one of the most time-honoured IP agencies in China, CPA leads the industry in terms of excellence, diversity and scale of its corporate operation. It now has 540 staff members, including 230 patent attorneys, 34 trademark attorneys, and 85 attorneys-at-law.
